Reason behind Fall:
- Promoter Radhakishan Damani to sell up to 1% stake in Avenue Supermarts to meet Minimum Public Shareholding norm
- Minimum Public Shareholding norms: Under Sebi norms, every listed firm will need to maintain a public shareholding of at least 25 per cent. Listed public sector companies have been provided additional time till August 21, 2018 to comply with the requirements.
- The sale of 1% stake means 62,40,844 shares may fetch around ₹888 crore for Damani.
- Share sale between May 21-Jun 14, or the actual date of completion of sale of all equity shares, whichever is earlier.
